The Role

Are you an experienced Engineering Technician looking to take the next step in your career? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic In-Service Support team working on cutting-edge Defence technologies, including Electro-Optic and Data Distribution Systems used worldwide.

You will play a key role in providing engineering support to global end users, ensuring mission success 24/7. Working alongside highly skilled engineers with decades of Defence experience, you'll contribute to maintaining, testing, and improving complex systems across the entire product lifecycle - from installation and maintenance to diagnostics, repair, and upgrades.

What You Will Do as an Engineering Technician
  • Support the delivery of in-service engineering and maintenance across a range of Defence systems.
  • Act as lab manager, ensuring equipment and facilities remain operational and well-maintained.
  • Conduct technical investigations, fault diagnosis, and rectification of emerging defects.
  • Carry out installations, integrations, and upgrades of new equipment and components.
  • Perform testing and inspection of systems, ensuring functionality and compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate with design, software, and project engineers to develop robust solutions.
  • Support field engineering teams, coordinating test equipment and spares for deployments.
  • Manage system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventative maintenance.
  • Uphold engineering best practices and promote continuous improvement across the team.
What You Will Bring as an Engineering Technician

You're a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer with a strong technical foundation and a passion for problem-solving. You enjoy working in fast-paced environments, take pride in delivering high-quality work, and thrive in collaborative, customer-focused teams.

  • A HNC (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent experience in a technical role.
  • Background in Defence engineering or experience maintaining complex systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with an electrical bias preferred.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
