  • Perform servicing and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT and diagnose faults.
  • Ensure vehicle reliability and maintenance standards are met.

Skills

An excellent and rewarding job opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious individual to join our garage as a Engineering Technician / Engineer reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, whilst maintaining the fleet of PCV vehicles here at our Darlington Depot (this will involve shift work including earlies, lates and weekends)

Responsibilities
  • Shifts are 5 over 7 Sunday to Saturday (hours to be confirmed at interview)
  • Competitive Salary with x1.5 time overtime
  • Servicing and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
  • Continuous improvement of vehicle standards
  • MOT preparation
  • Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA)
Requirements
  • Knowledge of PSV / HGV maintenance with recognised qualifications (E.G level 3 NVQ)
  • Can work safely and unsupervised to pre-set standards and guidelines
  • Electrical knowledge is desirable but not necessary
  • A PCV license is desirable but not necessary
  • Inspection of vehicles for the scheduled maintenance (training can be provided) with IRTEC accreditation favourable
