Job description
Engineering Technician – CFC Dordon

We wouldn't be able to positively impact the way the world shops without our passionate team members - who keep our business running, our vans delivering, our customers' products picked and packed and our proprietary technology operating at optimum levels. Both behind the scenes within the warehouses and across the front end of the customer experience which means we now have an opportunity for an Engineering Technician to join the team.

We are hiring for an experienced, hands‑on Engineering Technician to join our Engineering Operations team based at CFC Dordon. Undertaking day to day reactive and planned engineering maintenance activities and improvement works at the CFC. Working closely with Inbound, Outbound and other support teams to optimise availability and performance of the facility, and its MHE automation. The role is shift based to support the 24/7 operation of the CFC. In your role as Engineering Technician you will carry out reactive maintenance across the site and diagnose equipment breakdowns and action repairs where possible. You will work the Panama shift pattern to support continuous operations, benefiting from a competitive salary and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Keep records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores, training etc.

  • Work closely with other departments finding ways to increase machine reliability on existing and new equipment.

  • Diagnose equipment breakdowns and action repairs where possible.

  • Be available to attend training sessions.

  • Analyse data and find solutions to improve MHE performance.

  • Provision of customer service and After Sales support.

  • Provide service, maintenance and calibration of corrosion test equipment at customers' premises throughout the UK.

Qualifications

  • Electrical or mechanical experience, preferably within an FMCG environment.

  • A natural problem solver, analysing faults and providing solutions.

  • Good technical ability relating to automation hardware and software, ideally with some experience of both reactive and preventative maintenance.

  • An organised, capable team player with excellent communication skills.

  • Use computerised systems to complete jam reports and to complete maintenance logs, therefore basic computer literacy is essential.

  • Work safely at all times and highlight all H&S Issues to your Line Management.

  • Training to complete the technician role over first 3 weeks will be given but experience of working within an automated warehouse / logistics environment would be desirable.

  • English language skills equivalent to B1 on CERF Scale or above.
