Job summary

MidKent College in Maidstone is seeking a practical technician to provide technical and practical support for teaching and learning across the IoT and Construction Skills Factory facilities. You will help ensure facilities are fit for purpose and practical sessions run smoothly.

You will prepare, maintain and support the safe use of specialist equipment, support sessions, assist with student projects and practical assessments, and uphold high standards of health and safety and equipment care.

Job description

To provide technical and practical support for teaching and learning across the Institute of Technology (IoT) and Construction Skills Factory facilities. The postholder will prepare, maintain and support the safe use of specialist equipment, tools, materials and learning environments, ensuring facilities are fit for purpose and practical sessions run effectively.

The postholder will support lecturers and students during practical activities, provide guidance on the safe and effective use of equipment, assist with student projects and practical assessments, and maintain high standards of health and safety, organisation and equipment care. The role will contribute to an effective, industry-relevant learning environment that supports the development of students’ technical skills and knowledge.
