Engineering Technician – Glasgow

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to join a growing consultancy in Glasgow. This permanent role offers the opportunity to work on civil, structural, and geotechnical projects, producing accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings while collaborating with engineers and project teams. This role also provides clear progression opportunities into a full Engineering role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models across civil, structural, and geotechnical projects.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and project teams to ensure drawings accurately reflect design requirements.
  • Modify and update drawings based on team feedback.
  • Maintain organised CAD files in line with company procedures.
  • Carry out administrative duties as requested by the Senior Technician.
  • Support junior or graduate technicians in technical tasks.
  • Ensure all work meets company and industry standards, including quality, safety, and technical requirements.
Requirements
  • Diploma or certification in CAD Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development towards Incorporated or Engineering Technician status.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a CAD Technician in a civil engineering consultancy or similar.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and awareness of BIM standards/ISO 19650 workflows.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills; able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
