About The Role

As Engineering Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring that workshops are maintained in a safe and operational condition, preparing teaching and learning materials, and maintaining appropriate stock levels. You will work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to meet the learning needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain workshops, equipment, and tools to the highest standards, ensuring all statutory requirements are met.
  • Manage stock control of materials and consumables, including ordering tools and equipment.
  • Prepare materials and equipment in a timely, efficient manner for use by students and teaching staff.
  • Support the College’s commitment to safeguarding, diversity, equity, inclusion, values, and health & safety.
  • Undertake any other associated duties as required.
About You

We are looking for someone who is practical, organised, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You will be proactive in your approach, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Essential requirements
  • Education to Level 2 or above and/or a professional qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work without supervision and to plan ahead to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students.
Desirable attributes
  • Industrial experience in an engineering & manufacturing environment.
  • Good IT skills, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience of working with quality systems.
