Job description
Engineering Team Leader – Slough

Salary: £55,698.50 per annum plus pension scheme, life assurance, EAP, Recommend a Friend Bonus, Performance Awards, Long Service Awards and opportunities for continued training and development. This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager and supports a hands‑on team of three engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, motivate and mentor the onsite engineering team to achieve KPI and budgetary targets.
  • Ensure effective fault diagnosis and repairs in a demanding operational environment.
  • Oversee contractor activity on site and liaise with engineering suppliers.
  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance to keep all equipment operating at required outputs.
  • Maintain high standards for all work and ensure accurate records are completed and signed off.
  • Work a rotating shift pattern: 5 on / 4 off, 5 on / 5 off, 4 on / 5 off, with the 5 off always including a weekend; day and night shifts.
Required Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering or completed apprenticeship (mechanical/electrical/control) with an electrical bias.
  • Engineering experience in a high‑speed/volume manufacturing or production environment, such as FMCG.
  • Previous experience managing, motivating and mentoring a small team.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Good written and spoken English, self‑driven with high standards.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Experience in network engineering is beneficial.
