Overview
This opportunity is for an Engineering Team Lead to join the Calibration & Maintenance department at Stevenage, which is part of the Manufacturing functional organisation. The Calibration & Maintenance Engineering Team Lead will be responsible for day‑to‑day planning and completion of STTE (special to type test equipment) calibrations. Knowledge of calibration requirements, calibration controls & equipment capabilities is critical, as well as the ability to work in cross‑functional teams, reporting to external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Manage routine calibrations of electrical STTE & COTS and report back to key stakeholders (MOMs & TLs).
- Responsible for KPIs such as start on time, schedule adherence and lead time for all routine calibrations.
- Manage day‑to‑day deliverables of both engineers & operators within the team – routine calibrations, calibration failure / non‑conformance, COTS workload & backlog.
- Support team development – conducting performance and development reviews in accordance with MBDA PAD2 process.
- Working with external suppliers to manage offload calibration activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum NVQ L3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject.
- Proven people manager experience.
- Sound technical knowledge of test equipment (STTE & COTS), both theory and practical.
- A strong understanding of calibration principles.
- Demonstrated experience leading audits and managing compliance to relevant standards.
- Experience working with external stakeholders and managing workload.
Salary & Working Conditions
Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience. Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4 days per week on‑site due to workload classification. Security clearance: British Citizen. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
