Engineering Team Leader – Birmingham – £56,000 - £57,000

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Engineering Team Leader to join a well-established, forward-thinking manufacturing group!

With no two days ever the same, this role offers the chance to lead engineering teams across multiple high-volume production lines, providing genuine long-term progression and career development within a respected and innovative organisation in the food industry.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 4 shift engineers across 5 production areas.
  • 70% hands-on / 30% leadership (PPM planning, workload allocation, standards, contractor control).
  • Hands-on work with advanced automation, packaging machinery, robotics, mixers, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Oversee engineering suppliers, issue permits, manage handovers, audits, and holiday planning.
  • Drive safety, quality, and process standards across the team.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Multi-skilled engineer - ideally electrically biased.
  • Strong background in food, FMCG, or other high-volume fast-paced manufacturing.
  • Confident leader who can train, coach, and hold team members accountable.
  • Excellent communicator, able to allocate tasks effectively and make quick decisions.
  • Experience stepping up into leadership on shift will be considered.
