Job summary

Hunter Selection is supporting a Bristol-based manufacturing business in its search for an Engineering Team Leader. The role leads a shift-based team of up to five engineers, ensuring equipment reliability and overseeing maintenance during 4-on 4-off days and nights.

You will drive continuous improvement, coordinate planned maintenance, respond to breakdowns quickly, uphold safety standards, and collaborate with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager to push site performance forward.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing.
• Engineering qualification (Level 2 or above).
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Continuous improvement mindset; FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of up to 5 engineers.
• Coordinate and oversee planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Support rapid response to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities.
• Ensure engineering standards, safety and compliance are maintained.
• Work closely with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager to improve site performance.

Salary: Up to £57,500 (£75k+ earning potential)

I'm currently working with a leading manufacturing business in Bristol that is looking to appoint an Engineering Team Leader to support the continued development of their engineering function.

This opportunity would suit either an experienced Engineering Team Leader or a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to take the next step into leadership. You'll lead a team of engineers on shift, ensuring equipment reliability, driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the day-to-day delivery of engineering performance.

The Role:

• Positive, proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
• FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing experience highly desirable
