Capital on Tap is looking for an Engineering Team Lead to guide one of our product engineering teams in London (Moorgate). This hybrid role requires on-site presence two days a week.

You will foster a people-first culture, manage the performance and well-being of engineers, and drive delivery by partnering with Product and QA while ensuring technical credibility in decision-making.

Qualifications include leadership experience, a technical foundation in .NET, and a product mindset.

What You’ll Be Doing

We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead to lead one of our product engineering teams. This is a people‑first leadership role where you will manage the growth, wellbeing, and performance of a team of engineers while maintaining technical credibility to shape direction, remove blockers, and raise the bar on quality.

What You’ll Own

Team: hiring, developing, retaining engineers and running impactful 1:1s.
Delivery: partner with Product and QA to plan and ship reliably, removing obstacles and managing risk.
Culture: set tone for communication, feedback and accountability, building psychological safety while maintaining standards.
Technical credibility: understand trade‑offs, architecture decisions and technical debt, contributing meaningfully to those conversations.

What We’re Looking For

Leadership experience – managed engineers, able to have hard conversations, give developmental feedback and motivate people through uncertainty.
Technical foundation in .NET – backend is C#/.NET Core, need depth to review decisions and spot risks.
Product mindset – think of engineering in terms of business outcomes, push back on scope, advocate for quality and translate between engineering and non‑technical stakeholders.
Comfort with ambiguity – create clarity for the team when priorities shift.

Nice to Have

Experience with Azure cloud development.
Familiarity with React or front‑end delivery.
Background in regulated financial services or fintech.
