Job description

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school based in the Etwall area of Derby. The school is a well‑subscribed secondary school with a feel of the community. The school boasts fantastic facilities and offers opportunities both inside and outside of lessons to promote students’ engagement, to help them flourish personally and academically.

The school is looking to take on an Engineering Teacher on a long‑term, part‑time placement of 2 or 3 days per week within their Design Technology department. This role will be focused on the Maths and Physics aspects of the course including at A‑Level.

The successful applicant will be working across Key Stage 5, including exam preparation for exams. The role will be paramount in helping students achieve excellent results in the subject, whilst following and implementing the schemes of learning.

The successful Engineering Teacher will have:

  • QTS with Design Technology or Engineering specialism (ECTs are also welcomed) and a knowledge of the A‑Level Physics and Maths aspect of this course
  • Experience teaching Engineering, Physics or Maths at Key Stage 5
