Freelance Engineering Surveyor Opportunity 🚧

Are you an experienced Engineering Surveyor looking for flexible freelance opportunities? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team on various exciting civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

About the Role

This is a project-based freelance position requiring expertise in delivering high-accuracy surveys essential for construction and monitoring. You will be responsible for a full range of surveying duties from initial site control setup through to final as-built verification.

Key Responsibilities

Establishment and Maintenance of Survey Control: Setting up and managing precise site control networks using total stations, GNSS, and digital leveling equipment.

Grid Mapping and Layout: Performing detailed grid mapping for large-scale setting-out operations, ensuring all construction elements are precisely positioned according to design coordinates.

Dimensional Control: Carrying out pre-pour checks, structural monitoring, and installation checks to maintain dimensional accuracy throughout the construction phases.

Motorway Monitoring and Setting Out: Executing specialized tasks including high-precision monitoring on motorway target shots to detect movement in adjacent structures, and performing accurate setting out for highway infrastructure (e.g., bridge abutments, drainage).

Data Processing and Reporting: Processing raw survey data, producing accurate topographical drawings, volumetric calculations, and detailed survey reports.

Collaboration: Working closely with site managers, engineers, and construction crews to ensure smooth project progression.

Essential Requirements

Proven experience as an Engineering Surveyor on civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction projects.

Proficiency with modern surveying equipment (e.g., Leica, Trimble Total Stations, GNSS).

Strong understanding of survey principles, coordinate systems, and transformation parameters.

Competence in survey data processing software (e.g., LSS, AutoCAD Civil 3D).

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Valid relevant certifications and necessary insurances (e.g., CSCS, Public Liability).

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
