Job summary

Sodexo Group is seeking an Engineering Supervisor at the University of Greenwich's Avery Hill Campus. You will lead a skilled team delivering hard FM services for student residences, ensuring safe, reliable operation of M&E systems and compliance with safety standards.

You will coordinate maintenance via MAXIMO, support recruitment and training, and act as LV Authorized Person, contributing to safe, efficient living and learning spaces for thousands of students and staff.

Qualifications

• HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in building services or facilities management.
• Experience supervising or managing engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance in commercial/public sector.
• Experience managing contractors and service providers.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Competent IT user with experience of CAFM systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage a team of multi-skilled engineers.
• Oversee safe operation and maintenance of M&E systems across student accommodation.
• Coordinate reactive and planned maintenance through MAXIMO CAFM system.
• Ensure compliance with statutory health & safety legislation and Safe Systems of Work.
• Act as technical expert for fault diagnosis and resolution of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Manage contractors and suppliers to ensure quality, safety and value for money.
• Support recruitment, training and performance management within the team.
• Conduct audits and inspections to maintain operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Engineering Lead, Facilities Management and stakeholders.
• Manage spare stock and materials to support service continuity.
