A leading company in food manufacturing seeks an Engineering Maintenance Shift Supervisor in Wrexham. The role involves leading maintenance engineers to ensure efficient and safe operations. Salary: £54,394 + Pension + 21 Shift Holidays + OT at 1.5x + Additional Benefits
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off – Days & Nights
Our client is a leading business within the food manufacturing sector, operating multiple high‑performing sites across the UK. Supplying many of the nation’s major grocery retailers, they continue to invest heavily in people, technology, and modern engineering practices.
As the Engineering Maintenance Shift Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all site equipment. You will oversee a team of maintenance engineers, ensuring both planned and reactive tasks are completed to a high standard and in line with best‑practice engineering principles.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, coaching, and motivating the shift engineering team.
Ensuring all scheduled PPM and reactive maintenance work is completed effectively to maximise plant availability.
Upholding Health & Safety standards at all times, including ownership of dynamic risk assessments.
Minimising engineering downtime, accurately recording all breakdowns and monitoring repair times.
Working closely with planning and operations teams to coordinate maintenance activities with production needs.
Supporting ongoing training and development plans to strengthen both team capability and site performance.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
A recognised Electrical or Mechanical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent).
Previous experience working as a Maintenance Supervisor, Lead Engineer, or similar leadership role within manufacturing.
Strong people‑management skills with the ability to drive performance and promote a positive team culture.
A proactive, safety‑first mindset and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
