Job summary

BGIS is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to provide hands-on leadership across multiple sites at The Crown Estate, Regent Street. You will lead a team of engineers, ensure safe and efficient operations, and deliver service excellence aligned with contractual requirements.

The role includes managing PPMs, CAFM data (Maximo/Concept), and overseeing subcontractors while promoting a strong safety culture. A solid background in building services and team development is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership to engineering teams (Shift & Day Engineers).
• Oversee H&S compliance and PTW/LOTO processes.
• Plan PPM schedules and coordinate with Area Contract Manager.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and RAMS adherence.
• Attend callouts and provide weekly operational reports.
• Maintain accurate asset registers and CAFM data.

Are you an experienced engineering leader ready to step into a role where you can truly make an impact? We’re looking for an Engineering Supervisor to provide hands‑on leadership, technical expertise, and operational oversight across a high‑profile client portfolio.

You will lead a team of skilled engineers, ensure safe and efficient site operations, and deliver exceptional service standards that meet and exceed contractual expectations.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for the smooth, safe, and effective running of engineering activities across multiple sites. Key responsibilities include:

Leadership & Team Management

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership, direction, and development to engineering teams (Shift & Day Engineers).
• Conduct annual appraisals following BGIS training completion.
• Ensure engineers are equipped, supported, and informed to deliver a high‑quality service.
• Act as first point of contact for all in‑hours shift issues and mechanical escalations.

Health & Safety / Compliance

• Take responsibility for site H&S compliance and promote a strong safety culture.
• Act as on‑site HV/LV Authorised Person when qualified and on shift.
• Ensure Permit to Work (PTW) and LOTO systems are followed in line with BGIS and client requirements.
• Ensure statutory, code, and contractual compliance across all sites.

Operational Delivery

• Oversee subcontractor performance, RAMS adherence, and safe working.
• Ensure PPMs, reactive tasks, and audits are completed to a high standard and recorded accurately in CAFM systems (e.g., Maximo, Concept).
• Plan PPM schedules and manage workload distribution with the Area Contract Manager.
• Attend and review statutory work to ensure correct procedures are followed.
• Support engineers with technical queries and hands‑on tasks when required.
• Work closely with the Area Contract Manager and Contract Support to maintain exceptional service levels.
• Ensure prompt attendance and resolution of callouts in coordination with the helpdesk.
• Provide weekly operational reports and elevate non‑approved works that may impact service delivery.
• Maintain accurate asset registers and ensure all equipment is labelled correctly.
• Proactively source additional works, obtain quotes, and support procurement.
• Investigate operational incidents and provide detailed reports and recommendations.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience as an Engineering Supervisor or Manager within building services.
• Strong background in mechanical, electrical, or multi‑skilled engineering.
• Experience managing and developing engineering teams.
• Solid understanding of building services, statutory compliance, and FM operations.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and oversee safe systems of work.
• Exposure to performance management, appraisals, and people development (desirable).
