Job summary

COWI in London is offering an Engineering Summer Internship in Bridge & Structures for 2027. You will work on live projects, supported by our engineers, gaining hands-on experience in design, calculations, and documentation within a global consultancy.

Applicants should have completed at least 2 years of a Geotechnical, Civil Engineering degree; strong problem solving and a creative, technical mindset; some design coursework.

Qualifications

• Be currently studying Civil or Geotechnical Engineering at University.
• Have completed a minimum of 2 years in the degree (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc).
• Demonstrate problem-solving ability and a curious, analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural calculations and design checks under supervision of senior engineers.
• Support the preparation of technical drawings, reports, and design documentation.
• Shadow engineers during coordination calls with clients, contractors, or other disciplines.
• Contribute academic knowledge to project work and learning opportunities.

To give current students a taste of a career in Engineering, we are looking for a Summer Intern to join our Bridge practice in UK. Working on our current projects, you'll have the opportunity to support the team and learn from our Engineers on the day-to-day operations within a consultancy office.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Assist with structural calculations and design checks under the supervision of senior engineers


• Support the preparation of technical drawings, reports, and design documentation


• Shadow engineers during coordination calls with clients, contractors, or other disciplines (e.g. geotechnical, architecture)


• Use your academic knowledge of the engineering fundamentals to contribute to our projects


• Gain valuable experience in a global consultancy

• Have an interest in engineering within the Infrastructure or Energy market
