Inspired Pet Nutrition Ltd is seeking an Engineering Stores Lead to manage day-to-day stores operations, inventory, and supplier relationships at Kinmel, North Wales. The role focuses on driving efficiency, improving processes and ensuring smooth engineering operations across site maintenance and production activities.

The role requires experience in engineering stores within a manufacturing environment, strong CMMS/ERP skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering stores, maintenance stores or inventory roles.
• Manufacturing environment experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of engineering spare parts and consumables.
• Proficient with CMMS/ERP/stock management systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish and deliver high standards in Engineering Stores, ensuring stock accuracy and audits.
• Develop and deliver the stores inventory strategy aligned to engineering, operations and planning needs.
• Manage supplier relationships for reliable supply and cost-efficiency.
• Maintain CMMS records with correct part coding and descriptions.
• Ensure timely availability of materials for maintenance and production activities.
• Lead internal and external audits of the stores.
• Drive improvement projects within engineering stores/CMMS.

Engineering Stores Lead

Kinmel, North Wales | Permanent | Site-based

We're excited to be recruiting for an Engineering Stores Lead to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and organised individual, perfect for someone passionate about driving efficiency, improving processes and ensuring smooth engineering operations.

You'll be responsible for leading the day-to-day Engineering Stores operation, managing inventory and stock availability, building strong supplier relationships and identifying cost-saving opportunities to support site performance.

Responsibilities

• Establish and deliver high standards within the Engineering Stores area, ensuring stock accuracy, inventory control , resolution of any discrepancies and correct and safe storage. Lead regular stock checks, cycle counts, and annual stock audits.
• Accountable for development and delivery of the stores inventory strategy , aligned to business needs (engineering, operations, planning) .
• Manage and develop existing supplier relationships , ensuring reliable supply, competitive pricing and effective performance to deliver value-for-money solutions. Work with Procurement to establish any new supplier relationships.
• Maintain accurate records within the CMMS ensuring engineering parts are correctly coded, described, and assigned within the system.
• Ensure the timely availability of materials and spare parts required to deliver maintenance and production activities for planned and unplanned work.
• Maintain an audit-ready engineering stores. Lead and participate in internal and external audits as required.
• Take the initiative and lead improvement projects within the engineering stores/CMMS environment.

About you

• Previous experience in an engineering stores, maintenance stores, or inventory management role.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of engineering spare parts and consumables.
• Computer literate with experience using CMMS, ERP, or stock management systems.
• Good organisational and administration skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload effectively.
• Desire to take the initiative in continuous improvement.
• Experience within food, pet food, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or process manufacturing industries (desirable)
• Knowledge of maintenance planning systems (desirable)
• Experience with SAP, Maximo, Pirana, Shire, or similar systems (desirable)
• Forklift Truck Licence. IOSH Working Safely qualification (desirable)
• People management (desirable)
