About the Role
Engineering Shift Supervisor role at Bakkavor, food manufacturing facility in Nantwich, Cheshire. Responsibilities include maintaining, installing, and improving processing equipment, managing the engineering team, ensuring plant availability, training, health & safety compliance, downtime minimisation, stock management, hygiene and housekeeping standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage engineering team to ensure delivery of scheduled and reactive work that optimises plant availability.
- Implement agreed training & development plans to meet engineering and production needs.
- Comply with statutory and Bakkavor health & safety requirements and own the dynamic risk assessment process.
- Minimise engineering downtime, accurately log downtime and monitor repair time; liaise with planning and operations for preventive maintenance.
- Log stock in and out of the stores area and highlight any issues to the engineering team manager.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and good housekeeping; uphold GMP standards for workshops and engineers’ tool boxes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong people management experience.
- Multi-skilled background in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Experience completing both reactive and planned maintenance activities and small installations.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Appropriate professional mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications and training.
- Thorough understanding of common mechanical and electrical systems.
- Professional attitude with drive and enthusiasm.
- Good IT skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Compensation & Benefits
- £60,000 per annum.
