Overview

Job Title: Engineering/Maintenance Planning Manager

Description: We are hiring for our client, a dynamic leader in the FMCG sector, for an Engineering/Maintenance Planning Manager to join their team in Belfast. Offering a competitive salary of £53k to £54k, this position presents an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to drive engineering performance and implement innovative maintenance strategies.

In this key role, you will oversee the planning and coordination of maintenance activities, working closely with the engineering team to optimise systems and processes. You will manage the integration of new maintenance technologies, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and support the development of a high-performing, efficient workforce. This is an excellent opportunity to shape the future of engineering maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role
  • Lead and oversee the planning of engineering maintenance using an advanced EAM System
  • Champion the rollout and management of the EAM System throughout the organisation
  • Drive improvements in work scheduling, ensuring the effective use of the maintenance team and resources
  • Continuously enhance the Planned Maintenance System, ensuring it meets operational needs and aligns with equipment performance
  • Integrate cutting-edge maintenance technologies such as thermography, vibration analysis, and oil analysis
  • Ensure all engineers are fully trained and proficient in using new maintenance techniques
  • Maintain robust systems for tracking health, safety, quality, and performance improvement across the engineering team
  • Work closely with the stores department to ensure accurate inventory control and that repair items are properly tracked
  • Present regular performance reports and key metrics on engineering and maintenance activities
  • Facilitate effective communication of engineering schedules to all relevant departments
The Person
  • A recognised qualification such as ONC, City and Guilds, or equivalent in an engineering discipline
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety requirements within engineering environments
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance engineering, particularly within a manufacturing setting
  • Proven experience in a multi-skilled or dual-skilled engineering role in a food manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to influence and lead within a team
