Job description

Joining the Engineering Placement Scheme at Nestlé, you will embark on an exciting 12‑month journey gaining experience and exposure across different categories. Focused on maintenance and project engineering, you’ll have the chance to engage and work with our state‑of‑the‑art technology, processes, and equipment while playing an active role in the factory teams’ initiatives to improve operational efficiencies. We will support you to develop your engineering knowledge by providing varied experiences across a range of scenarios and projects, allowing you to apply your theoretical knowledge to specific engineering situations. Collaborating with a diverse team of skilled engineers, you will play an important role in supporting the advancement of our digital transformation initiatives, equipping you with the tools and knowledge to have a meaningful impact. You will also work to optimise key performance metrics including output, energy consumption, water usage, and compliance standards.

Eligibility requirements
  • You will need to have the right to work in the UK that is not time‑limited and does not require sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route either at the start of the scheme or on completion.
  • You’ll need to be in your penultimate year of university studying towards one of the following degree disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation Engineering, Robotics or Mechatronics and Control Engineering.
  • You will be mobile across the UK.
  • What’s also important is your commitment to the scheme and your willingness to learn.
The recruitment journey

Once you have completed this stage, we will notify you if you are selected to attend an assessment day which will be in February or March 2026. It may take a little bit of time between assessment stages to get back to you; we really appreciate your patience.
