Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking a Commercialisation Lead (Engineering and Physical Sciences) to guide the commercialisation journey for researchers. Hybrid working, permanent contract, and a salary of £48,822–£58,225 per year.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercialisation of academic research outputs.
• Ability to lead negotiations for IP licences and investment terms.
• Understanding of patent protection and IP strategy.
• Experience training engineers on commercialisation processes.
• Leadership experience in start-up or spin-out settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead Commercialisation Journey activities for multiple opportunities.
• Line manage the commercialisation team and mentor engineers.
• Deliver training to teams and maintain training materials.
• Translate research into value propositions with market fit.
• Lead IP-licences negotiations and manage external professional services.
• Oversee project records and contribute to annual reporting.
