Job summary

Cititec, in partnership with a leading global commodities trading business, is hiring an Engineering Manager to drive the build and operation of a new enterprise data platform. You will lead a team of engineers while staying deeply involved in coding, deployment and system reliability.

You will oversee streaming infrastructure across cloud environments, guide architecture decisions and mentor senior engineers to establish high engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience building and operating production streaming platforms.
• Excellent software engineering and data platform fundamentals.
• Experience across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and the full development lifecycle.
• Proven technical leadership without moving away from coding.
• Databricks, lakehouse architecture and AI-related technologies are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on development of a large-scale data platform across cloud, data engineering and real-time streaming.
• Build and operate production streaming systems using Kafka, Flink or equivalent technologies.
• Own technical decisions across architecture, CI/CD, testing, deployment and production reliability.
• Mentor senior engineers and establish engineering standards while personally contributing to implementation.
• Help shape the platform’s data products and wider architecture.
