Atlas Copco is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function in Eastbourne, overseeing hardware, software, and systems engineering, and driving strategic direction for product development and lifecycle management.

You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, own budgets, and collaborate with product management, manufacturing, and governance to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. The role emphasizes leadership, standards, and lifecycle ownership within an R&DaaS framework.

Qualificações

• Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with recognised systems engineering standards such as IEC15288 or similar development models.
• Chartered Engineer preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years engineering experience at a management level including new product development programmes, operations and support activities.
• Significant experience in developing or supporting customer-deliverable electronics-based products.
• Experience in working in an electronics manufacturing environment with an understanding of design for x strategy
• A proven ability to manage a portfolio of projects and activities, delivering on time, to specification and cost targets.
• Sufficient business/commercial awareness to balance potentially conflicting commercial and technical drivers and priorities.

Responsabilidades

• Lead engineering function with 11 functional leaders and around 100 indirect reports across hardware, software, systems, PMO, testing, and sustaining engineering, while owning significant engineering budgets and R&D service revenue.
• Drive engineering strategy and platform ownership, ensure on-time delivery to specification and cost targets, and collaborate with product management, manufacturing, supply chain, and governance teams to meet business objectives.
