Affinidi in London is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the AffinidiElements engineering team. You will work with product, design, infrastructure, architecture, and front/back-end engineers to drive features and platform improvements.

You will mentor engineers, shape the technical roadmap, advocate for quality, security, and performance, and translate complex problems into actionable tasks while maintaining a customer-focused culture.

• Lead the engineering team to develop features and improvements to the AffinidiElements product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way, primarily using Typescript with NodeJs and React.

• Drive architecture decisions and long-term technical roadmap; mentor engineers and foster a inclusive, high-performing culture.

About the role:

We are in search of a self-motivated, solution-orientedand experienced Engineering Manager to join ourAffinidiElements team. In this role, you will work with global peers on teams dedicated to areas of the product portfolio, from the product, design, infrastructure, architecture, and back/front-end engineering teams. You will be responsible for leading continued enhancement and development of a multi-component platform, where your expert skills in designing, architecting, and building quality systems will intersect with your leadership skills of building high performing team culture and growing your team members. • Lead the engineering team to develop features and improvements to theAffinidiElements product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way, primarily using Typescript withNodeJsand React.
• Analyzeandinterprethighly complexproblemsand convertthemintoactionabletasksfor the team.
• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders (e.g. UX) to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
• Collaborate in building the product and technology roadmap with peers, product managers,designers,and stakeholders.
• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance.
• Guide the team in solving technical problems with large scope and complexity.
• Guide the team in crafting code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale systems environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards throughbestpracticeswithin the team and department.
• Own delivery of significantly complex features and improvements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and peers on larger projects.
• Lead by example and constantly coach and mentor engineers in achieving the next level of career and professional growth.

You will be a great match ifyou:

• Haveexperience with a proventrack recordof leading engineering teamsdeliveringproduction-quality products in fast-paced, global environments.
• Possessstrong leadership skills in setting vision, fostering autonomy, mentoring, and driving collaboration across global, fast-paced environments.
• Have strong experience leading teams to deliver production-quality products according to industry standards, combined with excellent technical writing skills and the ability to guide the development and deployment of complex systems into production.
• Area hands-on technical leader with strong coding skills and a pragmatic approach—able to balance direct contribution with strategic delegation.
• Deep experience in diagnosing and preventing performance and optimization issues, and passionate about scaling knowledge through mentorship.
• Champion clean architecture, CI/CD, testing best practices, and coding standards.
• Bring asolid background in cloud-native environments (AWS serverless preferred), microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Proficient in design patterns and architectural documentation (C4 Model, ADRs).
• Haveexperienceinbuilding developer tools such as CLIs, SDKs, and developer portals, ensuring seamless developer workflows.
• Possessextensive experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and React; Familiaritywith other languages like Rust, Dart, or Go is a plus.
• Are hands-on with REST APIs, Test-Driven Development, and committed to privacy by design, security, high-performance systems, and inclusive communication.
