Job summary

Cohere in the UK is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Deployment Engineering team across EMEA. You’ll manage Forward Deployed Engineers on the front lines of deploying Cohere's North platform into customer environments and drive impact from the front.

This role combines leadership with hands-on delivery: mentoring engineers, partnering with Product, Engineering and Sales, and shaping enterprise deployments in cloud, Kubernetes, and OpenSearch.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with leadership experience.
• Hands-on deployment experience at enterprise scale.
• Strong cloud infra expertise (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent English communication.

• Drive end-to-end deployment of North in private cloud and on-premises environments.
• Take ownership of customer success from technical implementation through delivery.

About the Role

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Deployment Engineering team in EMEA. You'll manage a team of Forward Deployed Engineers who are on the front lines of deploying Cohere's North platform into customer environments. You should be ready to be a force to be reckoned with.

Location: UK (can be remote but based in UK)

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with demonstrated leadership




• Hands‑on experience deploying enterprise software at scale




• Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP)




• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines




• High agency — you don't wait for permission to solve problems




• A doer mentality — you dig in and get stuff done




• Experience managing engineers in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment




• Excellent communication skills in English.

Nice to Have's

• Fluency in additional European languages




• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure




• Background in enterprise security and compliance.
