A leading engineering firm in the UK is looking for an Engineering Manager DPE to oversee a large infrastructure improvement programme starting in February/March 2026. The role involves technical leadership, managing the engineering lifecycle, and ensuring safety and compliance in project delivery. Candidates should have a strong civil engineering background and excellent communication skills.
Location: London-based, with projects across the Eastern region
Start Date: February / March 2026
I'm looking to speak with experienced Engineering Managers / Designated Project Engineers (DPEs) ahead of a large, long-term rail and infrastructure improvement programme due to commence in early 2026. The programme covers a portfolio of renewal and enhancement schemes across the Eastern region, including civils, structures, stations, and M&E works. Projects will vary in scope from bridge reconstructions and platform upgrades through to drainage, embankment stabilisation, and building refurbishments – each delivered within a live operational rail environment.
The Engineering Manager / DPE will provide technical leadership and assurance across these works, ensuring design integration, safety, and compliance throughout all stages of project delivery. You'll be involved from early design through to construction, handover, and close-out, supporting multiple work banks and interfacing with internal teams, consultants, and client representatives.
This position is not required until February / March 2026, but I'm starting early conversations with senior engineers and technical leaders who may be open to exploring opportunities ahead of that timeframe.
