Job Title: Engineering Maintenance Manager

Location: Manchester

Salary: 75K-80KD.O.E+ pension 7% of salary + Private Medical + Other Benefits

My client is a long-established, family‑run business looking for a hands‑on Engineering Maintenance Manager to lead their small but dedicated team. This is a key role where you'll keep our equipment running smoothly, help plan improvements, and make sure everything on site is safe, reliable, and ready to support the future growth of the business.

About the Role

As Engineering Maintenance Manager you'll be responsible for day‑to‑day maintenance across the site and for leading a small, friendly team of engineers. It's a practical, varied role where no two days are the same one moment you'll be helping out on the tools, the next you might be planning a project or working with suppliers to keep things moving. My client is looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves when needed, solving problems, and finding better ways to do things.

  • Oversee maintenance projects, plant upgrades, and equipment installs.
  • Lead and support a small team, encouraging a safe, proactive, and positive working culture.
  • Put in place preventive maintenance plans to minimise downtime and keep equipment in top shape.
  • Make sure all work meets health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Work closely with contractors and suppliers to get the best results for the business.
  • Contribute ideas and technical input to help the business grow and improve.
The Candidate
  • Qualified in maintenance, mechanical or electrical engineering (PLC knowledge a bonus).
  • Ideally experienced in food, drink, or FMCG manufacturing.
  • Comfortable managing projects and maintenance budgets.
  • A confident, approachable leader who enjoys developing and supporting a small team.
  • Someone practical, reliable, and keen to make a difference day to day.
  • Experience with HACCP, GMP, or BRC standards would be great, but they can support training for the right person.
The Benefits
  • Basic of 75K-80K D.O.E
  • Pension 7% of salary
  • Private Medical Cover
  • A supportive, family‑run environment where your voice is heard and your ideas matter.
  • Real responsibility and freedom to shape how maintenance is done on site.

If you're looking for a role as an Engineering Maintenance Manager where you can make a real impact, work with a close-knit team, and be part of a business that values its people, we'd love to hear from you.
