Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an Estates Manager to lead the ongoing training and development of staff within the Estates function, ensuring they have the skills needed to support directorate performance. You will manage employee relations, sickness absence, and recruitment and retention in line with Trust policies.

You will also lead health and safety compliance, policy development, and liaise with Safety, Fire, Risk and Infection Prevention teams.

Job description

Management To be responsible for the ongoing training and development of the member/s of staff within the postsareas of responsibility, ensuring they have the required skills and recognize their role in contributing tothe directorate performance. To manage employee relation issues, ensuring that Trust policies and procedures are adhered to, andall issues are dealt with in a timely and consistent manner, including managing sickness absence. To manage recruitment and retention of staff in accordance with Trust policies. To lead on internal communications within the Trust to advise of any works affecting or which mayaffect the operational service delivery. To be the first point of contact for responding to complaints and concerns from the service users inrelation to engineering services or equipment maintenance issues providing a response which isempathetic in relation to the issues involved. To implement, advise and modify changes to the PPM, Asset Management and Advise Notessystems as required to cover legislation, British standards etc. Health, Safety, Fire and Risk Management To lead on the Identification of statutory and NHS standards applicable to Estates function anddevelopment and management of systems to ensure full compliance is achieved. Responsible for promoting a Health and Safety culture within Estates, ensuring appropriate riskassessments are carried out by in-house staff and contractors and to manage the Estates Health andSafety advisor workload. Responsible for ensuring that all work undertaken on the estate is carried out in accordance with safeworking procedures, statutory requirements and HTM guidance. Responsible for the development, completion and review of policies and procedures relating to theEstates function. Liaise with Safety, Fire, Risk and Infection Prevention Control teams to ensure that all appropriatecontrols are place. Lead in the identification and assessment of risk in relation Estates and ensure that controls are put inplace. To ensure effective monitoring systems are in place to effectively demonstrate compliance withstatutory inspection requirements for all critical aspects of the Estates and Facilities functions. **Rotation between Bolsover Street and Stanmore****Required to undertake long days / night shifts / on-call**
