The Role of the Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager will take ownership of day-to-day production operations at a busy Liverpool site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and motivate a team of 3 maintenance engineers, providing direct support and guidance.
• Oversee daily production plans, ensuring operational efficiency and minimal downtime.
• Take ownership of maintenance schedules, repairs, and site improvements, working with production machinery and conveyor systems.
• Manage budgets, liaise with suppliers, and drive cost-effective solutions.
• Bring fresh ideas to improve processes, output, and reliability.
• Ensure all maintenance and production activities meet high standards of safety and compliance.

About You

• Time-served Maintenance Engineer background (multi-skilled preferred).
• 5+ years in maintenance engineering.
• 2–3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong, hands-on engineering skills with the ability to lead by example.
• Background in manufacturing, production, packaging, transport, logistics, or warehousing.
• Proven track record of reducing downtime and improving operational performance.
• A confident, strong character who can inspire and develop a team.
