Job summary

Thredd is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager in London to lead multiple engineering teams and managers, delivering complex serverless systems and driving product ideas to market. This is a people, delivery and relationship-focused role.

You will work with Product, Engineering and senior stakeholders to remove blockers, shape team structures, and foster ownership and continuous improvement across the function. A minimum presence in our London office is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams and/or Engineering Managers.
• Strong track record delivering complex technology projects.
• Excellent people management, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing third-party development teams, suppliers or technology partners.
• Ability to build trusted relationships quickly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive, delivery-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• The ability to see the bigger picture and connect engineering activity to wider business objectives.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple teams, priorities and projects.
• A good understanding of software development, Agile methodologies and modern engineering practices.
• Technical credibility is important, but deep hands-on coding experience is not essential - strong leadership and delivery skills are the priority.

You'll lead high-performing engineering teams building cutting-edge, serverless systems, while playing a key role in turning ambitious ideas into products that get to market.

Our working model varies depending on the specific role and team requirements. We strive to provide flexibility whilst ensuring that each position is best supported for optimal collaboration and performance. The Engineering Manager position ideally requires you to be in our London office a minimum of one days per week.
