Job summary

Cognisant in Glasgow is seeking an Engineering Manager to own the engineering strategy and technical delivery for a range of developments.

You will lead a team of engineers and trainees, coordinate external consultants and ensure projects are delivered on programme while maintaining technical excellence and value for money.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication and pragmatic problem solving to balance design quality with project constraints.

• Work closely with Construction, Commercial, Land and Sales teams to support business objectives.
• Oversee the preparation, review and issue of engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Cognisant are looking to recruit an Engineering Manager to join a housebuilder with a strong reputation. As Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of the engineering strategy and technical delivery for a range of developments, ensuring projects are technically compliant and delivered on programme.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Engineers and Trainees


• Manage engineering activities from initial site appraisal through to site start


• Appoint and coordinate external consultants, ensuring quality and timely delivery of technical information


• Assess site constraints and develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions


• Work closely with Construction, Commercial, Land and Sales teams to support business objectives


• Oversee the preparation, review and issue of engineering drawings and technical documentation

About You:

• Proven experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, groundworks or a related construction environment


• Previous leadership or management experience within a technical or engineering team


• Strong project management, organisational and communication skills


• Commercially aware with the ability to balance technical excellence and project delivery
