Biffa, the UK's leader in the circular economy, is recruiting an Engineering Manager at Aldridge PRF to own site engineering performance, develop people, embed standards and influence safety, reliability and cost.

Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, you will lead the onsite engineering team, drive PM compliance above 95%, manage contractors and deliver long‑term asset health while balancing uptime with budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering team with accountability and high performance.
• Embed a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with engineering and H&S standards.
• Drive asset reliability through preventative maintenance with PM compliance above 95%.
• Reduce breakdowns and reactive maintenance, improving plant availability.
• Manage contractors safely and ensure quality delivery.
• Carry out Root Cause Analysis and implement long-term engineering solutions.
• Plan, execute and continuously improve shutdown activities to minimise downtime and risk.
• Take ownership of engineering OPEX, contribute to CAPEX planning and embed standards.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll take full ownership of site engineering performance, develop people, embed standards, and directly influence safety, reliability, and cost.

As Engineering Manager, you will be accountable for the safe, reliable and cost-effective performance of all site assets at Aldridge PRF. You'll lead and develop the onsite engineering team, embed best-practice maintenance standards, and ensure engineering is a trusted partner to Operations.

Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, you'll be a key member of the site leadership team and play a pivotal role in overall site performance.

This is a role for someone who enjoys ownership, leads with discipline and clarity, and balances short-term uptime with long-term asset health.

Your Core Responsibilities.

• Lead, coach and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering team, fostering accountability and high performance
• Create, embed and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring full compliance with all engineering and H&S standards
• Drive asset reliability through effective preventative maintenance, maintaining PM compliance consistently above 95%
