The role

As an Engineering Maintenance Technician, you’ll be at the heart of a growing team supporting the development and implementation of processes for the procurement, maintenance and refurbishment of specialist support equipment used in current and future submarine programmes. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to national defence while advancing your career in a dynamic and meaningful environment.

Day-to-day, you’ll play a key role in managing and maintaining specialist support equipment, coordinating with subcontractors, overseeing refurbishment projects, and stepping in for the PSSE Manager when needed.

  • Conducting equipment audits and inspections to assess maintenance, repair or refurbishment needs
  • Liaising with subcontractors and overseeing their work
  • Signing off completed subcontractor projects
  • Supporting procurement and refurbishment projects
  • Deputising for the PSSE Manager when required

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2-3 days in the office/onsite and 2-3 days working from home.

Qualifications for the Engineering Maintenance Technician

  • Level 2–3 qualification in an engineering discipline (BTEC NC preferable)

Preferred:

  • APM Project Foundation Qualification (PFQ) or equivalent
  • Management of Subcontractors training or equivalent
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
