Reporting to the site Chief Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the overall day to day management of the engineering department operations and the engineering team.
Responsibilities
- To Manage and ensure the motivation and performance of the Engineering team, providing rapid response to meet the needs of the factory production demands.
- To demonstrate excellent people management skills and drive excellence within the engineering team.
- To work with the Business Management Teams to ensure Engineering compliance with all International, National and Business policies for Quality, Safety, Health and the Environment.
- To be responsible for the delivery and installation of new machinery and ensuring that all plant and equipment comply with Health & Safety legislation, maintaining relevant records and KPIs.
- Optimise all Engineering Labour and Material Costs including Spares, Raw Materials and Consumables.
- Responsible for the continuous improvement program to ensure that the Engineering department is current and maintaining PPM and rapid response.
- Ensure that the site planned maintenance system satisfies our auditors and is managed effectively to cover all plant equipment and buildings.
Qualifications
- Previous experience at Management level within manufacturing or FMCG
- Strong people management skills and experience in leading a team
- An engineering qualification and excellent technical knowledge
- Organisational skills, ability to manage workload and prioritise
- Strong communication skills
