Job summary

E3 Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Maintenance Lead for a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the Desford area. The role offers a 4 on 4 off days and nights schedule (6am-6pm, 6pm-6am) with a basic salary around £63k plus bonus and extensive training.

You will manage workload across the department, drive improvements, and act as deputy to the maintenance manager, with prospects for progression in a market-leading organisation.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification: NVQ 3 or equivalent (Mechanical or Electrical).
• Strong Environmental Health and Safety awareness.
• Experience as Engineering Shift Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Manager or similar.
• Experience in manufacturing maintenance and development of PPM activities.
• Knowledge of manufacturing costs and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Manage assignment of electrical or mechanical workload within the department.
• Lead improvement projects with central project engineering teams.
• Act as deputy to maintenance manager; cover staff when absent or off site.
• Oversee subcontractor management and safety.
• Identify and eliminate recurring plant issues through engineering improvements.
• Drive plant reliability through best practice.

Key Duties of Engineering Lead:

• Managing the assignment of either electrical or mechanical workload across the department
• Undertaking improvement projects working closely with central project engineering teams
• Deputy to maintenance manager, taking control of staff during when absent or off site
• Responsible for subcontractor management and safety
• Responsible for identifying and eliminating recurring plant issues through engineering improvements
• Responsible for driving improved plant reliability through best practice

Experience and Qualifications Required:

• Engineering qualified NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification - Mechanical or Electrical - Multiskilled
• Strong Environmental Health and Safety awareness
• Previous experience as an Engineering Shift Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager etc
• Awareness of manufacturing costs and cost control
• Previous experience of undertaking maintenance within a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience of the development and application of PPM activities
