Job summary

THG Ingenuity is seeking a Maintenance Lead to oversee the site's maintenance strategy, driving reliability and safety across a fast-moving operation. You will work with Engineering and Facilities to shape the technical agenda and build a culture of continuous improvement.

You will lead TPM/RCM/FMEA, use CMMS data to address root causes, and own preventive maintenance planning while managing budgets and third-party contracts.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineer with leadership experience.
• Three years in engineering management or supervisory role.
• Experience with maintenance planning systems and CMMS.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• IOSH qualification or equivalent safety training.
• Practical understanding of modern maintenance and reliability techniques.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the site’s maintenance strategy.
• Lead reliability-focused maintenance using TPM/RCM/FMEA.
• Deliver monthly improvement plans to improve reliability and availability.
• Use CMMS data to identify root causes and drive lasting solutions.
• Coordinate response to live plant issues and manage risks.
• Own weekly and monthly maintenance planning and backlog management.
• Monitor and report KPIs to stakeholders.
• Coordinate planned outages and engineering events.
• Build team capability in asset knowledge and maintenance processes.
• Support engineering excellence across responsibilities.
• Complete risk assessments and manage Permit to Work.

About the Role

As Maintenance Lead, you’ll play a central role in keeping our fulfilment operation running safely, efficiently and reliably. Working closely with the Engineering and Facilities Site Manager, you’ll lead the site’s planned and reactive maintenance activity while shaping the technical agenda and building a culture of continuous improvement.

This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced engineer who enjoys balancing the demands of a fast-moving operation with the opportunity to develop long-term reliability strategies. You’ll use modern maintenance systems and techniques to improve equipment availability, reduce recurring failures and help our engineering teams perform at their best.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the development and delivery of the site’s maintenance strategy.
• Lead a reliability-focused approach using TPM, RCA, RCM and FMEA.
• Deliver monthly improvement plans that increase equipment reliability and availability.
• Use CMMS data and failure analysis to identify root causes and deliver lasting solutions.
• Coordinate the response to live plant issues, ensuring risks are managed and actions are followed through.
• Own effective weekly and monthly maintenance planning, including preventative maintenance compliance and backlog management.
• Monitor, analyse and report weekly and monthly KPIs, ensuring results are shared with key stakeholders.
• Coordinate planned maintenance outages and engineering events.
• Build team capability through structured development in asset knowledge and maintenance processes.
• Support the delivery of engineering excellence across your areas of responsibility.
• Complete risk assessments and manage Permit to Work processes.
• Manage third-party engineering and maintenance contracts effectively.
• Support budget management, forecasting and annual budget planning.
• Deputise for the Engineering Manager when required.

What We’re looking For

• Time-served engineering experience and a minimum HND qualification.
• At least three years’ experience in an engineering management or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills, with previous experience managing a team desirable.
• Experience working with maintenance planning systems and CMMS platforms.
• A strong understanding of health and safety, with a minimum IOSH qualification.
• Experience deploying, managing and auditing CMMS processes.
• A practical understanding of modern maintenance and reliability techniques.
• Excellent communication, organisation and computer skills.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to continuous improvement and innovation.
• The ability to respond quickly to operational priorities while maintaining focus on longer-term improvement.
