Engineering Machine Extrusion Operative – Extrusion Department

Location: Bridgwater | Remuneration: £27,000 per annum. Two annual loyalty bonuses (up to 4%). | Hours: Monday to Friday | Early Friday finish at 1pm | Leave: 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) | Other: Christmas shutdown. | Contract: Permanent, full‑time role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate various production machines including large press machines.
  • Perform visual and dimensional quality checks on finished parts.
  • Moulding operations: set up moulds, run presses, and trim excess material.
  • Mix and cast silicone products.
  • Operate trimming, laser marking, and assembly machinery.
  • Label and prepare goods for dispatch.
  • Maintain accurate production records and paperwork.
  • Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures.
  • Support other departments when required, working towards lean manufacturing standards.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous warehouse, production, or manufacturing experience (essential).
  • Machine operation or rubber manufacturing experience (desirable).
  • Good attention to detail and a quality‑focused mindset.
  • Comfortable working with small components while wearing gloves.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and adapt across departments.
  • Understanding of health and safety in a factory environment.
