Job summary

Eden Brown Synergy is recruiting an experienced Engineering Lecturer to join a Further Education college in West Yorkshire on a part-time basis.

The role runs three days per week (Mon, Wed, Thu) starting asap until Christmas, delivering Level 3 engineering programmes and supporting learners to develop technical and industry knowledge.

You will teach Level 3 Mathematics, Mechanical Principles, Materials and Health and Safety, plan engaging lessons, assess progress, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Level 3 engineering subjects.
• Strong knowledge of Mathematics, Mechanical Principles, Materials, and Health and Safety.
• Relevant engineering qualification and/or industry experience.
• Current DBS

Responsibilities

• Deliver Level 3 engineering teaching and assessments.
• Teach Level 3 Mathematics in an engineering context.
• Deliver Mechanical Principles and engineering calculations.
• Teach Materials: properties, selection and use.
• Deliver Health and Safety training.
• Plan, prepare lessons and learning resources.
• Assess progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records and marking as required.
• Support learners of varied abilities to reach potential.
• Promote safe working practices and professional standards.

Role: Engineering Lecturer
Location: West Yorkshire
Type: Temporary - Part Time
Rate: 35 - 39 per hour

Eden Brown are recruiting for an experienced Engineering Lecturer to join a Further Education college in West Yorkshire.

This is part time role for 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday) to start asap until Christmas initially delivering Level 3 engineering programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable engineering professional with a passion for teaching and supporting learners to develop their technical skills and industry knowledge.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality teaching across Level 3 engineering subjects, helping students develop the theoretical knowledge and practical understanding required for progression into employment or further study.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Teaching Level 3 Mathematics within an engineering context.
• Delivering Mechanical Principles, including relevant engineering theories and calculations.
• Teaching Materials, covering the properties, selection and application of engineering materials.
• Delivering Health and Safety, ensuring learners understand safe working practices within engineering environments.
• Planning and preparing engaging lessons and learning resources.
• Assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback and supporting achievement.
• Maintaining accurate student records and completing assessment and marking in line with college requirements.
• Supporting learners with different abilities and helping them reach their full potential.
• Promoting safe working practices and maintaining high standards of behaviour and professionalism.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience delivering engineering subjects at Level 3.
• Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics, Mechanical Principles, Materials and Health and Safety.
• A relevant engineering qualification and/or industry experience.
• The ability to deliver engaging lessons that support learner progress and achievement.
• Strong communication, organisational and classroom management skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
• A recognised teaching qualification and experience teaching within a Further Education setting would be advantageous.

Candidates must also have a current DBS.
