Job summary

LexisNexis Risk Solutions in London is seeking a Software Engineering Lead to drive delivery for an engineering team. You will write code on complex systems, mentor engineers, and manage performance and staffing while collaborating with stakeholders across the business.

You will model robust software architectures using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and microservices, while guiding development practices, reviews, and quality assurance in fast-paced projects.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to convey information clearly to a wide audience.
• Ability to partner with and lead internal and external technology resources to solve business needs.
• Knowledge of test-driven development/BDD frameworks (JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber) and industry best practices.
• Effective monitoring, alerting and visualisation (Kibana, Elasticsearch).
• Strong understanding of data modeling principles and storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into software designs with the team.
• Implement development processes, code reviews, and best practices.
• Work across Agile/Waterfall environments with stakeholders.
• Resolve complex bugs and work with complex data models.
• Manage the team: interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance and feedback.
• Provide accurate effort and cost estimates for deliverables.
• Encourage new ideas and empower staff to own outcomes.
• Seek diverse ideas to improve solutions and services.
