Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Lead in Stroud, Gloucestershire, offering a salary of £53,000 per year. The role runs Monday to Friday, dayshift, with responsibilities spanning maintenance, fault diagnosis, and supervision of preventative maintenance programs to ensure continuous operation.

The ideal candidate will have significant maintenance engineering experience in manufacturing and a proven ability to lead teams, report accurately, and manage spares and maintenance planning

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a multi‑skilled maintenance engineering role within manufacturing.
• Experience as Engineering Lead is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Identify failure modes of plant equipment and restore operation safely and promptly.
• Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns.
• Collaborate with day teams to resolve long‑term issues.
• Locate spare parts via the maintenance system and manage stores.
• Assess electrical failure modes and advise on preventative measures.
• Record work in the maintenance system and follow scheduling for PM.
• Coordinate with engineers to ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance.

Overview

This successful business stands as a prominent and well-established player in their respective industry, delivering high quality products throughout the United Kingdom. They are currently looking for an Engineering Lead to join their expanding team.

Responsibilities

• Identifying failure modes of plant equipment and returning the equipment to operation safely and in a reasonable timescale.
• Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns.
• Liaising with engineering day teams to identify and resolve long‑term engineering issues.
• Locating spare parts using the maintenance management system; collecting and returning spares to stores.
• Identifying failure modes of electrical equipment and making recommendations to prevent further failures.
• Obtaining maintenance schedules from the maintenance management system and feeding back work carried out; work arising to be recorded using notifications.
• Carrying out preventive maintenance routines, including collaboration with Maintenance Engineers and other Engineering Leads to ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance is completed in line with scheduling.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer role within manufacturing, with experience as an Engineering Lead being beneficial.
• Constant drive, enthusiasm, and self‑motivation with ability to motivate others.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Accurate and timely reporting skills.
• Completed an apprenticeship as a Maintenance Engineer.
• Working knowledge of good engineering practices.
• Relevant qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent City & Guilds or HNC) or equivalent.
