Job summary

A leading aviation training provider is seeking an Engineering Instructor for Electrical Marine Engineering in Gosport, Portsmouth. This fully onsite role involves delivering training to the Royal Navy, ensuring quality relationships, and maintaining training documentation. Candidates must possess a Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering and practical skills. The position offers a salary between £39,000 and £41,000 for a full-time term-time role requiring UK Security Clearance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience within Electrical/Engineering.
  • Be proficient in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace.
  • Competent Electrical practical/hand skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training modules within Electrical Marine Engineering to the Royal Navy.
  • Conduct theory and practical training in Electrical Engineering.
  • Ensure outstanding relationships with the customer and within the training area.
  • Assist in maintaining training documentation and assess student coursework.
  • Utilise best practices to inform quality and improvement activities.
  • Be responsible for the duty of care during the delivery phase.

Job description

Role: Engineering Instructor - Electrical Marine

Location: Gosport, Portsmouth - fully onsite

Hours: 37.5 per week - Term Time

Salary: 39,000-41,000

Clearance: Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Delivering training modules within Electrical Marine Engineering to the Royal Navy
  • Conducting both theory and practical training in Electrical Engineering
  • Ensuring outstanding relationships with the customer and within Marine Engineering Electrical training area.
  • Assisting in maintaining and updating training documentation and assess student course work to provide feedback on performance.
  • Utilising best practice across the establishment to inform and direct quality and improvement activities across RN training.
  • Responsible for the duty of care and progression of training during delivery phase.
What we’re looking for:
Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications
  • Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience within Electrical/Engineering
  • Be proficient in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
  • Competent Electrical practical/hand skills
Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications
  • Classroom experience in teaching technical subjects in an adult education environment,
  • Level 4 teaching qualification
  • Experience of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (or equivalent).
