Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) invites high-potential graduates and final-year students to join a 12-month development journey across software and platform engineering. You will build foundational skills, participate in a global induction, and collaborate on group projects aimed at delivering scalable, reliable technology for the business.

Qualifications

  • Final year undergrad or Masters in CS, CE, Engineering, IT or related discipline and must complete course by Aug/Sep 2027 or fresh graduate class of 2026.
  • Strong interest in technology demonstrated via studies, internships, projects, or extracurriculars.
  • Demonstrable interest in financial markets through studies or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in group projects aligned to LSEG goals.
  • Engage in the engineering bootcamp and global induction.
  • Meet the cohort at Ignite offsite for skills development.
  • Contribute to projects spanning software, platform engineering, reliability, and data science.

Eligibility Criteria
  • To be eligible you must be a final year undergraduate or Masters student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline and have completed all the requirements of your course before August/September 2027 or a fresh graduate in class of 2026.

  • Progress through a 12-month development journey aiming to build foundational skills that are key for your future success
  • Build your foundational knowledge of LSEG, Financial Markets and the business during your global induction
  • 'Engineering Bootcamp' week to immerse you in the business and Engineering principles
  • Participate in group projects which are aligned to LSEG goals
  • Meet in person with your cohort at ‘Ignite’, the programme mid-point skills offsite. Explore key knowledge areas and skills
  • Access opportunities to earn industry-recognized qualifications,including 5 study days during programme
  • Connect with global early careers community and opportunities and contribute to wider society via CSR initiatives and volunteering opportunities

After completing the programme, graduates transition into permanent roles within Engineering, aligned with their interests and business needs.

Engineering

Roles in the Engineering apply deep technical and analytical expertise to build, operate and improve the platforms, products, services and models that power our business. Spanning software and platform, reliability, quality, cyber security, service operations, service management, financial engineering and data science, these roles work across the full lifecycle to solve complex problems, enable secure and resilient delivery, and drive continuous improvement in a product-led, data-driven environment.

Job Families
Software & Platform Engineering

Roles in Software & Platform Engineering focus on building and improving the software, infrastructure and systems that support our products and services. Engineers work across the full software and infrastructure lifecycle to deliver usable, maintainable applications.

Reliability Engineering

Roles in the Reliability Engineering track play a crucial role in identifying and reducing risks to performance and availability. They develop tools and implement strategies to prevent problems before they occur and recover quickly from a failure keeping platforms, applications, and services stable and reliable.

What We Are Looking For

We are passionate about recruiting people who have a genuine curiosity about Technology and strive to pursue a Technology career path, as evidenced by their studies, extracurriculars or work experience. It’s important to us that you can also understand the breadth of our organisation, how it functions and the vital role that technology plays in supporting LSEG and our clients.

  • You will have a strong interest in technology proven either via your work experience, extracurricular activities, or academic studies. For instance, you may have secured an internship in a technology role or focused on technology as part of a university project. You may have learnt how to code or how to use a particular technology.
  • You should have a demonstrable interest in financial markets, which you’ve built through your studies, work experience or extracurricular activities.
  • A curiosity for data and an ability to analyse information to draw conclusions and propose solutions.
  • Individuals who can connect the dots and think strategically.
  • The environment we work in is fast paced, you’ll need to demonstrate focus, resilience and the flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
  • People who can collaborate with others, using their communication skills in the process.
  • Ideal candidates will have the rights to work in the UK without restrictions.

We are considering candidates beyond the core software degrees (e.g. computer science, software engineering, Mathematics and Informatics) and candidate with physics, engineering, electronic degree who can demonstrate an interest in Technology as evidenced by extracurriculars or work experience, or personal projects can apply.
