Job Role

As an Engineering and Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organising and leading our engineering and facilities maintenance activities. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring continuous, safe production and maintaining our high‑quality standards. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in both mechanical and facilities management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resource Planning and Team Leadership: Lead the team to meet key performance metrics and sustain safe, continuous production.
  • Maintenance Management: Oversee planned maintenance, calibration, service schedules and manage critical spares inventory.
  • Audit Follow‑ups: Implement corrective/preventative actions based on internal audits.
  • Risk Management: Generate risk assessment reports and quality documentation, ensuring compliance with GMP standards.
  • Engineering and Facilities Oversight: Lead all site maintenance activities, including contractor management and coordination with production planning.
  • Contract Management: Review and negotiate service contracts, quotations and invoices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement a continuous improvement strategy using lean tools such as TPM, FMEA, 5S.
  • Leadership and Role Modelling: Demonstrate behaviours aligned with the company’s values and leadership competencies.
  • Employee Development: Lead and promote employee development, performance evaluations and involvement.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification (MEng, BEng/BSc/HND/HNC).
  • Electrical and Electronic NVQ Level 3 or related qualifications.
  • Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2018 (preferred).
  • Experience in mechanical and facilities management.
  • Expertise in decision‑making on technically complex matters.
  • Leadership skills with a flexible approach.
  • Experience in the Laboratory/Pharma/Food industry in a process or packing environment.
  • Proven track record in successful project delivery.
