RLDatix in London is seeking an Engineering Director to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, delivering integrated, scalable healthcare software platforms. You will align technical execution with strategic business goals, driving delivery excellence and system reliability across multiple domains.

You will define technical strategy, mentor senior engineers, and manage budgets and governance in a regulated healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated software, infrastructure, data and security solutions.
• Proven ability to establish observability, monitoring and automated delivery pipelines for reliable releases.
• Experience managing technical strategy, resources and budgets in a dynamic R&D environment.
• Experience operating in regulated environments with security, governance and compliance considerations.

We're searching for a London-based Engineering Director to join our Engineering team, so that we can deliver integrated, scalable and reliable solutions for healthcare organisations. The Engineering Director will lead and coordinate cross-functional engineering teams to align technical execution with our strategic business goals, driving delivery excellence, system reliability and innovation across multiple technical domains.

How You'll Spend Your Time

• Leading and coordinating cross-functional engineering teams to deliver integrated, scalable solutions aligned with strategic business goals
• Defining and communicating technical strategy across engineering domains, partnering with Product, Design and Platform to align priorities with customer and business outcomes
• Overseeing high-quality, timely project delivery by establishing robust delivery standards, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to support reliable software releases
• Mentoring and developing engineering talent, coaching technical leads and senior engineers to strengthen leadership capability, accountability and technical ownership
• Managing operational budgets and resources, establishing operational objectives and departmental policies while ensuring adherence to governance protocols
• Implementing comprehensive monitoring, logging and alerting, along with effective on-call and incident-management practices, to ensure system reliability and observability in a regulated healthcare environment

What Kind of Things We're Most Interested in You Having

• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions across software, infrastructure, data and security domains
• Proven success establishing and optimising engineering processes, including observability, monitoring and automated delivery pipelines to support high-quality, reliable software releases
• In-depth knowledge on how to manage technical strategy, resource allocation and operational budgets within a dynamic R&D environment, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Advanced proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex technical challenges, including performance bottlenecks and distributed system issues, across diverse platforms
• Experience operating in a regulated environment, with practical understanding of security, governance, risk and compliance considerations, alongside modern development frameworks, cloud engineering and the full SDLC
• A knack for working collaboratively across cross-functional teams, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to translate complex technical concepts into actionable plans
