Job summary

K10 Apprenticeships Limited is seeking an Engineering Design Technician Apprentice in the West Hertfordshire area as part of Thames Water's Shared Apprenticeship Scheme. The role blends office-based design work with on-site exposure, teaching you to interpret technical drawings, create CAD/BIM models and communicate design information to stakeholders.

The apprenticeship lasts 42 months with on-site training and college attendance, focusing on safety, quality drawings, and cost-effective

Qualifications

Proven ability to work with precision on engineering drawings and designs.
Willingness to learn CAD and BIM modelling within a multidisciplinary design team.
Understanding of health and safety requirements on site and in office environments.

Responsibilities

Produce CAD drawings and schematics for structures, piping, electrical systems and mechanical components.
Create and review engineering drawings to relevant standards and codes.
Coordinate design options with stakeholders using sketches, models and reports.
Identify discrepancies in drawings and specifications and propose solutions.
Support rotation through different environments to gain broad sector exposure.
