Overview

Engineering Course Leader (Tutor)

Full time: 37 hours per week

Location: Burton and South Derbyshire College, Stephen Burke Construction Academy, Swadlincote

Salary: Up to £36,590

Plus up to £4,500 'Golden Hello' staged over 3 years

Plus Bursary up to £1,800 per year (qualification level dependent)

Plus up to £11,000 professional development bursary for formal education and training qualifications including:

  • Level 3-5 Education & Teaching
  • Level 3 TAQA Assessor Qualification
  • Level 4 TAQA Internal Quality Assurance Qualification
  • Level 4 Engineering
Responsibilities
  • Deliver and lead on a range of full-time Engineering programmes.
  • Teach across a range of Engineering courses and modules aligned to your occupational skill set.
  • Demonstrate innovative teaching and learning, with excellent communication to motivate and guide learners to succeed.
Qualifications and experience
  • Working knowledge and experience within Engineering and Manufacturing with a focus on technical skills and machining; CNC experience desirable.
  • Ideally hold a relevant Higher Education qualification in Engineering or related subjects and have industrial experience, alongside appropriate teaching and assessing qualifications.
  • The College welcomes applications from vocational specialists and offers training to gain a recognised teaching qualification.
  • For industry professionals moving into teaching, there is a government grant scheme with payments up to £6,000 per annum while studying teacher training programmes.
  • Graduate applications welcomed on the Graduate Teaching Programme.
