Job summary

SPEEDY HIRE (IRELAND) LIMITED in West Bromwich is seeking an Engineer to oversee the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of plant hire equipment. The role emphasizes safety and compliance with Speedy safety standards while offering flexible working hours to promote a balanced work/life environment.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to test and repair plant equipment to the highest standard.
• Experience in the hire industry or similar is preferred.
• Willingness to support business unit in delivering ESG strategy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and compliance in maintenance and repair of plant hire equipment.
• Liaise with drivers and hire desk team for effective prioritization.
• Work collaboratively with other engineers in the depot.

Position

Engineer – TLS: Provides overall responsibility for inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of plant hire equipment in the region, ensuring all work undertaken is safe and complies with Speedy safety standards.

Daily Responsibilities

Works directly with other engineers in the depot and liaises regularly with drivers and the hire desk team to prioritise repairs and maintenance of plant equipment effectively.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to test and repair plant equipment to the highest standard, ideally gained within the hire industry or similar
• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds equivalent in a relevant discipline
• Technical/engineering background is desirable
• Flexible approach to working hours
