Job summary

HSB is seeking an Engineer Surveyor Category 3 in London to perform statutory and contractual inspections on mechanical equipment. You will handle diverse sites from football grounds to zoos, ensuring safety, compliance and operational readiness.

The role requires 1–3 years in engineering, NVQ 3 or equivalent, and a solid understanding of regulations such as LOLER, PUWER, PSSR and COSHH. A UK driving licence with <=6 points is preferred.

Location: London & Greater London (inside M25)

Total reward package:£53,376.00 per annum plus London weighting depending on location

Salary: £38,500 per annum, plus car allowance of £6000 per annum and £4000 per annum London weighting for home locations inside the M25

Working hours: 40 hours per week (inclusive of travel time), additional hours worked paid as overtime

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Engineer Surveyor you will carry out statutory and contractual inspections across a range of mechanical equipment. This is a varied role where no 2 days are the same, from completing inspections at a football ground, to ensuring equipment is safe and compliant at a zoo. You’ll play a key role in helping our clients stay compliant, safe, and operational, all while working within a supportive, expert-led environment.

What You’ll Need
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in general engineering environments.
  • Minimum Level NVQ 3, or equivalent award, in an engineering discipline
  • Knowledge/understanding of statutory regulations, such as, LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, COSHH, and British Standards.
  • Holder of UK Driving licence, no more than 6 points
