Job Title

Engineer Surveyor – Electrical/LEV

This is an exciting field-based opportunity for an experienced engineer to join our Electrical / LEV division here at Allianz, a division of one of the largest insurers and financial services companies in the world.

Role Description

As an Engineer Surveyor you will carry out hands‑on inspections of plant and equipment in accordance with company Technical Standards and Health & Safety provisions, reporting to your Area Manager. You will prepare reports of examination following your inspections using electronic reporting to ensure fast and efficient delivery to our clients.

  • Carry out the Periodic Inspection & Test and complete the EICR for all types of Industrial & Commercial installations such as Offices, Factories, Quarries and their associated Electrical apparatus.
  • As well as examination of LEV plant including air movers (fans), ducting, hoods, and filtration systems to control fumes, dust and mists created by both industrial and commercial processes.
  • This is a remote role when not on customer sites.

Salary Information

Pay: Starting salary £44,213 per year.

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

  • Up to date on your knowledge and understanding of all relevant Compliance and Regulatory rules and procedures that relate to the Electrical / LEV discipline.
  • Effective at short, medium and long-term planning, in order to diarise meetings, visits and work allocation.
  • Able to travel effectively within their local allocated work area.
  • Able to process documentation, as well as undertaking general administration.
  • A good team player, for example deputising for fellow Engineer Surveyors (of own discipline) as and when required.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical surveyors require a practical background in low voltage wiring installation, inspection or maintenance and fault finding. (Not Electronics) This would include factories, houses, shops etc.
  • Successful candidates are required to hold a minimum qualification of NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering and hold BS7671:2018 (18th Edition), C&G2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent.
  • Awareness of Local Exhaust Ventilation Systems and an understanding of the COSHH Regulations
  • UK Driver’s License.
  • Aptitude and understanding of the need for planning and an ability to prioritise your own workload.
  • Strong customer interaction skills are essential, including good oral and written communication skills.
